Acupuncture is a 5000-year-old complete diagnostic treatment system from China that can treat and prevent illness. Acupuncture is the main component to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). As TCM practitioners, we believe that all beings have a life energy called Qi (pronounced chee). This energy flows throughout the body along specific pathways called Meridians. When the flow of energy is blocked, we experience pain, sickness or more imbalances. Acupuncture restores health and harmony through the insertion of fine, single-use, pre-sterilized needles at specific points chosen in accordance with the patient’s individual needs and Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis.
People of all ages can be treated with acupuncture for a variety of ailments including migraines, IBS, chronic fatigue, menopause, PMS, arthritis, and infertility.

How does NAET work?
NAET is a synthesis of various medical disciplines such as Allopathy, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Kinesiology, and Nutrition. Nambudripad’s testing technique uses Neuromuscular Sensitivity Testing (NST) which indicates the kinetic imbalance in the body caused by allergens. The NAET® treatment stimulates pressure points along the spine from the neck to the sacrum while the patient is holding an allergen. After the treatment, a strong NST indicates the allergen has been removed. Specific acupressure points are then massaged or acupuncture needles are inserted for 20 minutes to stabilize the treatment. The allergen must be avoided completely for 25 hours following the treatment. One allergen is treated at a time. If you are not severely immune deficient, you may need just one treatment to desensitize one allergen. A person with a mild to moderate amount of allergies may take about 15-20 office visits to desensitize 15-20 food and environmental allergens.
Chinese Herbal medicine is a major component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been used worldwide for over 3000 years. Most Chinese Herbs are plant-based such as leaves, barks, roots, seeds, and flowers, though some animal parts are used as well. These herbs can treat a wide variety of symptoms, working together with, or sometimes in place of, acupuncture and other medicines. They are easier for the body to process than western pharmaceuticals. Unlike most pharmaceuticals, herbal prescriptions in Chinese medicine are tailor-made for each individual.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger, following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system. This system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch (no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel) practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
By complementing the body’s natural healing process, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease. It is also effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction including but not limited to: migraines, chronic pain, motor-coordination impairment, colic, CNS disorders, orthopedic problems, concussions and traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer’s and dementia, autism, spinal cord injuries, scoliosis, learning disabilities, chronic fatigue, emotional stress, fibromyalgia and connective tissue disorders, TMJ, immune disorders, PTSD, and post-surgical recovery.
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy (“Arvigo Therapy) utilizes ancient techniques from the Mayan tradition of healing to soothe tension in the ligaments suspending organs in the abdomen. Therapy consists of both self-care (taught by Lydia) and massage or manipulations and is extremely relaxing. For women, the benefits of Arvigo Therapy include: care for prolapsed uterus or bladder, easing of painful menstrual cycles or ovulation, alleviation for ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis. For men, benefits include reducing early stages of prostate swelling, benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH)and prostatitis (mild), and helping with impotence and erectile dysfunction. Benefits for all include treatment of digestive disorders, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastro esophageal reflux (GERD), chronic indigestion or heartburn, and Crohn’s disease.
Therapeutic massage helps relieve and release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental/physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, reduce blood pressure, promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being.
Massage therapy causes a decrease in stress hormones while increasing serotonin and dopamine (the feel good brain chemicals) thus having a positive effect on depression and mood fluctuations. By lessening the tension in muscles, massage can help patients overcome a number of stress-related health issues including insomnia, energy-drain , brain fog, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Regular massage can significantly improve both flexibility and mobility which in turn promotes vitality and more good health.
Lydia is a specially skilled massage therapist. She is particularly effective at identifying problem areas and using an array of techniques including cross-fiber friction, energy work, and the correct degree of pressure can release adhesions (or knots). The pain and stiffness we experience is our the way our muscles tell us they are overwhelmed and need to be released.
Therapeutic Massage is considered a “Massage for Health” and as such is more intense and extensive than a pure relaxation massage to help address immediate pain as well as long term or chronic issues. That being said, Lydia also offers an amazing Swedish Massage if you just need to come and unwind from a stressful week.

Cupping is an ancient therapy that utilizes suction rather than compression for bodywork, rejuvenation, lymphatic drainage, and everything in between. By rapidly releasing the tight soft tissues, cupping breaks up and drains stagnation while increasing blood and lymph flow in a way compression therapy can’t. The negative pressure created during cupping engages the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system, allowing a deep relaxation throughout the entire body. The cups can be made of glass, plastic, or silicone and are applied to areas of pain or acupressure points using an oil to facilitate dynamic movement or static placement. The process can produce temporary marks on the skin. These marks are not bruises. They form due to stagnate debris and toxins such as lactic acid and will fade. The many benefits of cupping include alleviating pain, soothing achy muscles, smoothing the appearance of cellulite, reducing the appearance of scars and stretch marks, natural detoxification, rejuvenating tired and saggy skin, increasing circulation an lymphatic drainage, alleviating painful joint movement, opening congested sinuses, and support for weak immune systems.
